Just finished packing up all my stuff for a longgg night........

Have a pig to cook (wedding present) for a good friends wedding...190-210 lbs.
(haven't picked it up from the slaughter house yet)

BUT......and there's ALWAYS a but.....
Right now it's 48 degrees windy and raining hard!

Tonight they are forecasting a low of 32-35 degrees with
MORE rain and winds up to 25-30 m.p.h.
WAIT.... that's not the best part...
I get to do all this out in a state park in East Bum-shoe with
NO electricity! The park actually has electricity, but I just
found out this morning that it's shut off for the
Fall & Winter season.
I don't own a generator, so I just spent the
last hour making the cooker a hand-crank capability.
(was way cheaper then buying a genset!....LOL  )

Camera is charging, going to jump in the shower and then
go get the pig and head out..........pictures and update Sunday ...maybe ;)
if I don't sleep all day.

Go get'm Man!!!
Sounds like it's gonna be a tough cook...you'll COPE Boy.

Be safe
peace

Better not fall asleep. The perimeter is going to be fill with glowing eyes after dark. Maybe throw a road kill into the woods to keep em off the pig.
Good luck. This will most certain need pics!

Reminds me of the good ole days when we did a pig roast for our campground. Man thats a lot of fun. Please post the pics.

Here ya'll go..... I didn't get a plethora of ccoking pics but a
few should tell the story.....

Picked Porky up at the butcher 203 lbs., they even loaded it for me.

Headed out and set up and helped get everything set up....
Fall Harvest Festival Theme....

Had to sawzall it off at the knees and lose the head too....

Still couldn't waste the head though....

A shot of my manual rotation conversion...."High Tech Redneck"...
welded an inch and an 1/8 impact socket on end of shaft, and
plasma'd a few stop points for rotation........turned super easily
with a 3/4" breaker bar.

Very nice informal wedding.....
Check out the size of them sunflowers!!! [smilie=a_sunflower.gif]

Close as ya get to a finished product pic
(the back of my head  ).....sorry...
I was busy by that time and wife was taking pics of
people not food

the end............ <scratchthat>....THE BEGINNING!!!!......... :D [smilie=a_dreaming.gif] [smilie=a_smitten.gif]

[smilie=sleep.gif] Brisket Wishes & Pulled Pork Dreams.....
Good Nite.......

edit:...sorry forgot...the rain diminished by 10PM and today was a beautiful Fall day... temps hit almost 60...so much for the weathermans forecasting skills [smilie=rlp_smilie_312.gif]

While I'll admidt usually the weatherman screwing up is a Real PITA this is one time that.. well frankly it turned out for the better.

Pig looks good, and ur out of necessity mods look like they work good too!
