The Big Easy review:

A+

Very moist. Very tender. Very close to fried. Very good addition to the weaponry

I hope everyone had a good day.

Cliff - looks delicious. I'd never heard of the Big Easy. I assume it's basically an outdoor gas oven that can be used for any roasting that would normally be done in the kitchen oven :?: :?:

Looks good Cliff. How big was that spatchcocked version? I dont think the 22 pounder I had would fit spread out on the grate like that. Did good to get it shoved down the barrell whole. We have a worthless Schnauzer that looks just like the one you got. Supposed to belong to the 10 yr old grand daughter but it gets room and board at our house.

One of the family members prefered the smoked turkey over the Big Easy turkey. I love fried turkey so the Big Easy had my vote.

Big Easy turkey was done in two hours. Breast meat temp was 168 and the thigh meat was 182 when I checked it. The skin was vert crisp until I foiled it and put it in a towel lined cooler. Then it softend up to much for my liking.

I noticed that the maverick probe slid into the thigh meat on the Big Easy turkey like hot butter. On the smoked turkey there was much more resistance even after it was done.

I have read where someone was putting chips in the bottom of the unit but I think they were having problemes with the chips burning up.

I purchased mine at Lowe's.
