Has anyone made their own smoked salt?

If so how did it turn out and how did you do it?

I tried to the other day. It seemed to work. I put about 1/2 cup of sea salt in a 8X8 aluminum pan and placed it in my smoker for a few hours. I would shake the pan every once in awhile. I used my supply of hickory wood.
 
supposedly you can buy it that way, but I've looked all over and can't find it here locally. I'll either have to do it myself or get it off the net.
