Newbie question about handling hot grill components

There should be a hook on the inside of the lid that will let you hang it on the side of the grill....look for it on the inside of the lid.

Wow, I'm a little bit embarrassed about missing the hook inside the lid.

I remember the first time I saw the hook too.

and I hope that doesnt make me sound like I know what im doin cause I dont, but i think some people here might.

I've been using Weber kettles for 40 years and I learned a new one just this year: Don't park the grill with the wheels downhill and then hang the lid on the downhill side.

(Dings are character marks. And ash on the driveway will clean up with the hose. Honestly, I wouldn't cook with the grill oriented that way, I was just using the kettle to start a chimney for the WSM.)
