Newbie question about handling hot grill components

There should be a hook on the inside of the lid that will let you hang it on the side of the grill....look for it on the inside of the lid. ;)

I remember the first time I saw the hook too. ;)

and I hope that doesnt make me sound like I know what im doin cause I dont, but i think some people here might.
 
I've been using Weber kettles for 40 years and I learned a new one just this year: Don't park the grill with the wheels downhill and then hang the lid on the downhill side. :oops:

(Dings are character marks. And ash on the driveway will clean up with the hose. Honestly, I wouldn't cook with the grill oriented that way, I was just using the kettle to start a chimney for the WSM.)
