Have not heard of Frontier. Have been grabbing small bags of El Gallito mesquite from the local market. It is at least pretty good size. Currently a personal favorite. Burns into a light paper like ash and has a good flavor. Going to see if I can find Frontier next time I get out as briquettes aren't doing it for me much anymore.

I got a few bags of the mesquite and a couple bags of the lump earlier this year. The lump was ok although there are a few brands I prefer. OCC, Wicked, Royal Oak, etc... The mesquite was not my favorite. I detected an off flavor, almost like burnt paper, to the butts I did with it. Also, it didnt seem to burn as hot as the other brands that I use.

Its all personal preference in the end as a buddy of mine likes it. NakedWHiz gave it an average I think. I have started buying all my charcoal at GFS. It appears they re-brand Royal Oak and I am liking the fact that they have it all the time. Unlike the big boxes here that only have charcoal until July 4th.
