Seems like forever since I have been on and posted but I haven't cooked for 5 months (cant keep my temps up in the winter) we got rolling today for the first time since november.

Got rolling with t nest of Oak Chunks and Lump Charcoal

Lit a chiminy of Jack Daniels Briquettes

when It got up to temp I threw on a turkey that had brined for 2 days and a injected and rubed beef chuck roast

6 or so hours later running between 225-260 its ready to come off

pulled, sliced and waiting for sauce and sides

served it up with potato salad, cole slaw, greens and corn bread

its nice to have the whole house (wife kids and dogs) agree on something, good eating and welcome back BBQ season!!!!!
 
Looks mighty tasty. Shame about that no cook in the winter deal. You might need a winter pit.
 
this sounds like a great dinner! yummy! i have been grilling my food since i started avoiding too much fats from oils and i am really a big fan of grilling because it is healthier than the fried counterparts and more yummy too! keeps the flavor of the food, unlike steaming although that is i guess healthier. it is a great way to cook all sorts of meats because grilling really brings out a lot of flavors in meat.
 
Triple dittos to that dissertation. I like to be healthy. I was fixing to send the Warden out for fried livers and gizzards but now think I might spank some Filet Minions on the gasser. I am somewhat conflicted. Thanks.
