anybody made any good ones?
I'm craving em, nobody around here will sell just the points,
and I really don't care about the flats....anybody tried making
em with chuck roasts or anything like that?

Jim use a chuck roast, that's gonna be as close you are going to get to a brisket point.

Smoke until it gets fairly tender, but not done. Chunk up, put in a pan with sauce and simmer.

I feel the same way...I told the Mrs. I think I'm going to turn the flats to Corned Beef from now on and Q the Points
 
Scotty I talked to 2 guys, I've got one guy left who may
be able to help. Costco won't split em, sell em whole.
Lowes food hardly ever gets them. They just don't sell that
well here. Trying to get a hold of a butcher in Murrells Inlet..
I'll buy a case if I have to. It may just be too odd of a request.
I had heard of some butchers selling the flats and grinding the
points.

Cappy, a few weeks ago I did the opposite. I ground the flat for burgers and it was great! Try that, then you can use the point for burnt ends!
 
My wife loves the burnt ends, but is not a real fan of brisket. I buy a small flat & slice up the whole thing & make burnt ends out of it. Looks like this
