I used a # 10 can full of the pistachio shells in 12 hours that it took. I probably should have weighed them. They were not the red shells, The butts did have about a 1/4 inch smoke ring and was a little deeper around the bone. Would I use them again? Probably not. It did impart a nice flavor, But nothing as strong as hickory. Thanks for the complements. Thanks Larry for posting the pics.
