how long will ribs stay in a cooler wrapped in a towel after pulling off the smoker and still be good?

I have held 80 racks of ribs, in 120 Qt cooler for 18 hours... temp still in the 150's when I reopened cooler

Bob, I not saying you didn't do it...but that seems like a long time to hold ribs...wouldn't they be mush by that point?? :?

I've actualy done this on several occasions... to be sure, they are not "tight" on the bone, when you take them out... not much you can do when you have to do a huge amount of racks of ribs, plus other stuff like butts and briskets... it works, and they are still hot the next day, properly coolered.. just back off the cooking time a bit, and they are more than edible..

yeah, seems like you could just pull em a little early and they'll finish
cooking in the cooler. The timing could be tricky though.
