What do you get when you combine cheese bread, Angus pastrami, Swiss
cheese, sauerkraut and honey mustard? You get a great light lunch! Well,
that's all true, except the light part. This monster is quite the caloric
indulgence. Have a recliner or cot handy.

This isn't so much a typical recipe, but just a quick run-through of the
making of this monstrosity.

Preheat your oven to broil.

Slice the loaf of cheese bread in half horizontally.

Slather the inside of each half with a thin coat of honey mustard.

Add sliced Swiss cheese to the top.

Cover the entire bottom with two layers of sliced pastrami.

Top the meat with a nice layer of drained sauerkraut.

Put the bottom (meat laden) half on a sheet pan and broil (center rack) for
about five minutes. You just want to take the chill off of the meat and dry
the kraut a little.

Turn the oven to bake at 350º and add the top (cheese side up, of
course) to the oven rack and bake five minutes.

Slide the oven rack out and carefully turn the top over onto the bottom.

Bake five minutes more.

Slice, serve and enjoy!

Note: I apologize for the poor pictures. The good camera wasn't available.

WOW, now that is a sammie John are you a Boise State fan? I am in northern Michigan with my wife and her friend both Virginia Tech alumni. If you are Boise State fan they want to make a BBQ bet, they'll put up their favorite BBQ against your favorite sauce or rub... Do you want to take the bet?

Thanks, Buzz! Although I am a BSU fan, I am not a betting man, so I'll have to politely decline the wager.

No worries, though. Tell your VT folks that I just saved them the embarrassment of a lost bet. :D

John

P.S. What part of northern Michigan? I spent nearly 8 years stationed in the U.P. (near Marquette) while I was in the Air Force.

Indian River, on Mullett Lake, it is 30 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge. We'll call it a gentlemans bet ... but Go Hokies :D
If I'm not mistaken, I believe this is off topic!

I would have to agree with you Nick, this should have been done Via PM.
