Build a Smoker - how?

Hi folks. Just wanting to know if I can build a smoker out of one of these:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...al%2BGrill.jsp

It's cheap, new, and has a dome. Using gas for my smoking seems a bit much. It's actually a grill.

If not, what should I use?

Cheers

I'm not spending $1200 after I bought my current barbecue. Unless you want to send me the money.

OK then..."$800". Still a lot to pay to specifically smoke meat. And I like building things.

Was hoping for something half the size of a current Napoleon smoker. I'm just one guy and running out of deck space too. Hence the small footprint.
