well thanks to good advice, good recipies and a little good luck the break in cook on the father's day present went well. the chicken was on point, the brisket had a great smoke ring and was above average but not perfect, still a great way to spend a friday and a great meal at the end of the day. thanks to all for the advice and answers.

Now thats how you treat a break in! I had a chargriller for years, you have alot of good food and good times ahead of you
 
thanks for all the positive comments....I also got some cedar planks.... i am sure some salmon is in the near future
