Well.... the out laws arrived from St.louis and I have to feed the brood while they are here. Luckly I had a 13lb turkey in the freezer so it seems like a good dinner for everyone. Had to go get a can of Fosters and forced myself to drink about a 1/3 of it before getting it on the wsm. Might be a good day after all!

We needed a quick lunch for a house full of kids. I found a recipe for the old Lum's Dogs. We had a pack of Nathans in the fridge and I was forced to scrafice one of the latest homebrew beer to steam them. Otherwise it might be good for the masses. They will go on the smoker in a bit.

That turkey looks great GH, but I would really go for one or two of those dogs. I'd forgotten about Lum's they were great. I'm thinking you may have to schedule a trip to the carryout to restock before your in-laws run you dry.

Thanks...Dogs turned out fine. The kiddies ate them out of the pan. The older ones ate off the smoker. I had some homemade Kraut on mine and a brew. I am happy now!

I'm not sure why he didn't drink all the beer and refill it with AJ or some ginger ale  Now that I have seen them plated picture I really want one of those dogs with homemade kraut.

That

Looks

GREAT!

Love the color on that bird, and the cut-up pieces don't look shabby either.

Now, about those "Lum's" kraut dogs...If I remember correctly, mine always had the kraut and CHEESE! ;) ;)

You have me thinking. I'm already planning to smoke a couple bricks of cheese tomorrow night. Maybe I need to get some good hot dogs, some buns, and some kraut (no time to make it for this time  ). Does anybody think it'd be a waste of Guiness to sacrifice it with the dogs?

Thanks,

BOB

Toatally. The Guiness is much better WITH the dogs!
I use cheap beer with 1tbls each of sugar, garlic powder, corriander seed and half an onion sliced and steamed with the dogs for about 1/2 an hour and lightly grill.
