New to the Forum from Santa Maria
Hey everyone,
just stumbled upon this forum while searching for a new pit. I hail from Santa Maria where we do the tri tip. i love to do tri tips, chicken, linguica and everything else that is common to Santa Maria style BBQ as well as ribs and fish. I bbq almost every weekend for pleasure but would be interested in maybe trying my hand competitively sometime. I currently live in Riverside and im a business student at UCR hopefully graduating after this coming year.
where are the californians at?

Welcome beardmanhbo, Tri Tip seasoned with a little Suzie Q's is my absolute favorite meal. Tougher to find Tri Tip in Ohio, but well worth the effort. Looking forward to your posts.
BTW there are a number of West Coasters here, Vermin 999, Tri Tip, Tim Bear, Helen Paradise just to name a few.

i can only imagine how hard it is to find try tip out there. im in Riverside going to school which is 3 hours south of Santa Maria and its hard to find it here. What we do have is pre-seasoned triangle beef that is packaged up and they have the nerve to put "Santa Maria style" on the package. I buy the real stuff in bulk when i visit home.

Yeah, it's not nice to talk about fantastic cuts of meat that most of us can't get hold of.
