Hey All-Y'all from Central North Carolina

The name is Tom (or Thomas), and I've been smoking for a couple years (have a LANG 36 Hybrid smoker), and I've been judging bbq comps for 5+ years with KCBS, MBN, North Carolina Pork Council, North Carolina Barbecue Society, and the North Carolina BBQ Association. I have cooked in competition numerous times, but mostly just judge (2-4 weekends per month from February through Thanksgiving weekend). Also cater a few events annually.

Just found out about this forum, but I've been very active on BBQ Brethren forum, BarbecueBible forum, and BBQ Critic for many years.

I'm looking forward to spending some quality time here!

Welcome Tom! So if I post a picture of a practice box, you'll tell me why it's not a 9 right?

I'll be glad to give you my opinion on the Appearance of your box!

Might not be exactly what you are looking for, but I will tell you what I think.

I've judged about 400 boxes on BBQ Critic, and I'm a CMJ (that's a Certified Master Judge) with KCBS.

Well, BW was telling me that KCBS is BS, and the real competitions garnish the box with foil! But it just so happens that I am a CMCIMO! That's certified master cooker, in my opinion! So I think we will get along great!

Welcome to our knowledge base. LoL. We love food porn here, just remember when you smoke, grill, fry, toast, or whatever to take pictures, lots and lots of pictures. We love em'. Hope to be seeing great things from you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hey Tom glad you found your way over here. All my Grandma's folks were NC refugees.
