Hello From West Virginia

I'm brand new to BBQ, I will ask dumb questions, I apologize in advance.
I'm mainly looking for recipes and equipment reviews. I want to purchase a smoker/grill but haven't pulled the trigger yet. With that said I'm looking forward to reading and enjoying the tips and recipes that are posted here. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome Bhug, just keep following the BBQC Forum and you will get some great recipes, these folks know what they are doing. First step is a smoker and my vote is a WSM (Weber Smokey Mountain) http://tinyurl.com/y92ofac and I think if I had it to do over it would be a 22" rather than the 18" I have. Good luck and welcome

Nice to see you here Bhug. My only advice would be that after you've had a chance to see what's going on and what's available to purchase, you have all your BBQ supplies delivered to your neighbors house and then sneak them home when your wife is out. I get the hairy eye ball a lot when the UPS truck shows up. Boy it's fun though!!

Re: Hello From West Virginia

Hey bhug welcome. I been honored to have met several transplanted W. Vigginy folks over the years and they was all real nice people with all kinds of funny stories about back home. Sure your no exception even though you aint got your self immigrated yet. Now as far as newbie bbq pits think that smart feller above hit the nail direct on the head when he say get the WSM. Neva owned one personally but aint heard nary but good thangs about em over the course of the last decade(s) or so. I do not know when them first got invented.

Welcome. Weber Smokey Mountain for sure. I have the 18" WSM, and I absolutely love it. Check out my signature for some videos.
