Hello from Texas

Just decided to join this forum. I've been reading through it and there seems to be a lot of talented people here...a few that I recognize from other forums that I am a member. Anyways, I am from the Dallas area...about 26 miles east in Forney, I work in Terrell. This past May I decided to start practicing to compete in the IBCA sanctioned events...and a few other different sanctions when able. The first thing that I did was buy a 22 1/2" Weber Smokey Mountain...great investment and then started practicing. I plan to do my first comp in Feb. at a IBCA contest in Irving Texas. I hope to learn a great deal from the great talent on this site and hopefully contribute to it myself.

Thanks,
Weldon

Re: Hello from Texas

Hey Weldon welcome. Glad you made it over here. That Irving Elks cookoff is a great one. Free breakfast for the cooks etc. Nice and close to the beer joint..blah blah blah. Cooked it several times once or twice during a typhoon. That was fun.
