Buffalo BBQ

Hi I'm from Buffalo and I love to BBQ. Most people here don't Q they mostly Grill so I don't get a chance to talk Q that often. They tend to look at you a little crazy when you start talking about cooking a Brisket in the winter time. I'm also a bit of a ludite when it comes to computers so bear with me. I just bought an offset firebox smoker and plan on entering my first competition this year. If anyone has any general competion advice I would love to hear it. Also any advice on combating heat lose during the winter time would be helpfull. As I stated earlier I just updated from a "Lowes SFS" to a beefer one made out of cold rolled steel. I'm hoping that will help with some of the issues I've faced. Any suggestions would be great.

Don't know what an updawg is. The name came from my college daze; combo of last name and howling at the moon on Fri, Sat, nights. :bar:

Would that be the Lowe's "Sure Fire Special".
Sorry, I work at Lowe's and couldn't resist. You can expect to learn a lot from these folks. I sure have!
