I got mine at Sam's club. It runs on propane. Makes a great Turkey. They're all inherently dangerous. Be safe!
 
I've never used an electric one, so hard for me to comment. If you do get a propane one, make sure the base is very sturdy, and make sure there is a metal ring that will hold the pot in place. I've seen the videos
of grease getting out and becoming en fuego, and it looks like things lose control real quick!

That said, I can't remember the last time I had a turkey that wasn't fried.
