North American .22 Mini Revolver

I bought one of these fine little pocket pistolos back in the real early 80's for a hundred bucks brand new and have carried it in every scenario imaginable including its usual residence in the Warden's giant purse (no puns or other word plays please). Its not bad accurate if you stick with the same bullets. So a few years back the plastic handles fell off..but that aint no biggy for home folks. Then recently it was noticed the cylinder was not indexing..just spinning free. I do not like to shoot em like that. So I called the factory about snagging the right part to fix it and what do ya know them things have a lifetime ghorontee. They say send it back and they fix it up like new and catch it up with changes over the years and add some fancy fold down handles which I was admiring. All this for 63 bucks. What a deal huh? They are about 250 for that package nowadays. I am trying to figger out how to send it back easiest and cheapest. The Post Orfice do not ship them but the lady implied a lot of folks do that. UPS or Fedex will ship it but has to be overnighted..which costs an arm and a leg. It prob dont weigh 4 oz or so..so thinking of just putting it in a little box and putting some stamps on it. Let me know. Thanks. Would highly recommend the little gun. It appears good for laying down grazing fire whilst you dig the big bad boy out of the boot or over hauls etc.

I'm thinkin' I would just use USPS and don't tell them, pretend like you didn't ask. Looks like it would fit in the $5.10 small flat rate box, go to the PO, get the box pack it up and then have them put the shipping label on it, they don't need to know what's in it as long as it is not dangerous for the carrier. I'm such a rogue

The last time I sent a gun out was several years ago for some custom work. At that time I used UPS ground and think I called the contents of my package precision machine parts. I don't remember them having any red label restriction then but didn't really want everyone to know what it really was and of course insured it for enough to cover a replacement.

Yeah I remember when i had a problem with my Walther P22, the hammer cracked on it, all the way through. All I had to do was take it back to the dealer that I bought it from and they shipped out to be fixed. I had it only for about 2 months though.

I think your best bet is to ship it through UPS, and make sure you insure it to cover the costs of a new piece, just as a precaution.

Thanks Max. I done got told shipping the mini is not top priority around here. Hopefully this decision will get headed down the funnel of the right strategy before show time.

Yeppers it been a good little pea shooter. Learned the first day it was apt to fly out of your hand when the hammer falls. From them on I shoot it two handed. Weak hand thumb and index finger to hold on to the handle and strong side index finger on the trigger. The new flop down handle extension should make it one hand shootable. Glad to hear such unanimous approval for the strategic plan of letting the Warden mail it. I would not like any hickies..dings..or boo boo's on my criminal history report. Smart thinking.

Busted for what, if your sending back to the manufacturer, there is no reason for anyone, or thing to bust you. You have a legitimate reason for sending it. I have sent a few of my pistols through UPS and I have never had anyone say a thing to me. I even had one of the people at the UPS store help me pack one of my pistols before. Not one word was said. If you are that scared of something going wrong take the firing mechanism be it pin, or hammer out, and then break it down into different pieces, this way it CAN NOT be fired. That or go to your local gun dealer and see if they would ship it for you, if you are paying for the shipping, I see no reason that they would not ship it, if they were able to see what was being shipped.
