Monkeying around with some Duraflame Real Hardwood Briquets for the first time today in the WSM with some spares. 95% hardwood w/vegetable starch binder. No chemical additives, mineral fillers, coal or petroleum by products. (what it said on the bag)

Using the minion method, the heat is coming up a little slower then lump or Kingsford, but steady. Put 4 peices of hickory chunks. Plenty of smoke. WSM is holding right around 230*.

Anyone have experience with the Duraflame Real Hardwood Briquets?

Was not overly impressed with this product. Slow on heating up and not as easy to control. Especially trying to cool it down some. It never really found a temp to settle on. It just kept getting slowly hotter. AND it burned fast like lump. Did not notice any flavor either. Would rather use Kingsford or real hardwood lump.

Well thanks for the repoat. I was just fixing to send the warden out to buy some. Sure sounds good on paper but guess it dont get no ceegar.
