Is it really worth 180 bucks? Cause I'll buy it for 20 if it is.
Problem is I bought Henckel knives in a similar mass savings,
and was disappointed.

I doubt it, the 8.5qt Dutch Oven on their(calphalon) web site is listed at $99.99.

I still think $20 is a good deal.

I have the exact pot! It's a steal at $20 IMO! If I didn't have one, I'd get it.

seems more of the better known companies are making their stuff overseas, and that causes me concern as far as the quality goes.

But again, for 20 bucks, I'm sure it's worth it. Can't wait for it to get here!

I started to bring up the over seas thing also.
Mine are US. I would still by that pot for $20.

Would never buy at full cost if msde in China. I'll have to switch brands.
I think the ONE line is still MADE IN USA.

I'd love to have mine by Thanksgiving, but I'm sure it won't make it.

Hey, was that pan $20? I just looked and now it's $29. Damn, that's not the first time I failed to act promptly to subsequently see the price go up. Would you still buy it at $29?

Bob,

Are you talking about searing or browning. If you're talking searing I don't think you can beat cast iron or SS. For browning the Calphalon pans should do a fine job. Their new Calphalon One line has a non-stick finish and a stick resistant fifnish which they say is better for searing/browning.
