I would think about trying this, but I have no idea what *3 ancho chili pods (I have used dried whole anchos) is. Can you shed some light on that?

It's a type of pepper. If there's a grocery store with an international section near you you may be able to find them there. They usually come dehydrated in clear plastic bags.
