The other night I cooked a pot of white beans to have for dinner tonight.

I had also saved four nice chops I cut from a ten bone rack of pork to go with the beans. I first moistened them with an orange from the trees in the yard and then seasoned them up with my citrus dry rub before putting them on the grill.

When they were almost done I squeezed more fresh juice on them to further enhance the citrus flavor.

And DONE!

These were excellent! Tender and juicy with perfect flavor.

Mighty fine grazings. Not sure how a person could live without pork chops and white beans.

Tasty Twist alter ego of Beanie Weenie? I think not. Those are total different food groups young man..lol.

Ok for them who opens their can of Pork n Beans which have a grilled pork chop down in there kindly holler back. In more genteel times a busy mother could present her family with a platter of pork chops with white beans and soft fried tastes on the side would have a meal fit for Royalty. On the other hand if she happen to shove a can of beanie weens and a spoon toward the Alpha Male she could be in a heap a trouble. Maybe sent to the root cellar to think about it for a while etc.

The only time we have canned "pork & beans" is sometimes and that's even rare but sometimes with bbq chicken. More likely it'll be bbq baked beans. Otherwise it's red or white as well as other varieties slow cooked from scratch.

Yeah now your talking. I tried making scratch made Boston Baked beans a time or two. Bush's from the can was mo betta and not near as much work. I have forumlated a theory most folks like doctored up canned sweet beans more than they like scratch cooked dry beans of any sort. Know I have dumped much less of the canned beans down the drain at largish feeds anyway.
