I'm going to cook some chicken quarters tonight. I have a barrel style grill on the smaller side. It doesn't have enough room to cook all I want to tonight on the main grate without getting too close to the fire. It has a secondary rack/warming rack above the main one. I was wondering if this area will get hot enough to cook some chicken. I make a fire in one side of the grill and cook the chicken on the other. I know the stock thermo''s on cheaper grills are usually useless but it's close to this rack and it registers plenty hot enough. Any advice? Sorry if this is in the wrong area.
