Prime Tri Tip & Big Sirloin

Well I finally tried the tri tip after looking at everyone elses pics. I spotted it next to the sirloins at Tonys Meats.

I threw it on the grill with the sirloin and started to burn it up. so I moved it to the 2nd rack on my gasser and took it to 125*....It was only ok if you ask me. The sirloin is always good!

Thank you guys! For whatever reason, the tri tip was a little tough, it coulda been the texture im not sure. Ive never done one before.
I agree the pics make it look pretty good but my honesty has to prevail this time. hahhaaa (you'll never hear that again) :LOL: :LOL:

How do you guys cook em'?
 
Looks fine from here. DB - Marinate those Tri tips for 6 - 8 hours before grilling and be sure to slice thin across the grain.

Thanks John....they came from the butcher shop to the grill pretty much. Next time ill marinate em'.
 
I ground up all the leftovers of that tri tip and made taquitos today! Oh man are they good. I love mexican food!

I was outta toothpics but the skewers would look great for presentation. That happened to me one other time for shrimp wrapped in bacon wrapped in chicken...my problem then was, I couldnt shut the grill.
