Yeah, it's a weird combo...we had planned on having brats for dinner, then we invited some friends over and needed more food. After last night's chicken salsa verde I'm addicted, so I decided to do it again. Last night's was a little too spicy so I tweaked it a little.
Tonight's salsa ingredients.
After the char.
Leftover homemade brats that had been frozen. I decided to try something new and do them on the WSM, low and slow. I didn't care for them much with this technique. Our guests were kind and said they were good but I know they were at best mediocre.
Brats on.
Bone in, skinless breasts rubbed with Penzy's Gelena Street.
Seared.
In the salsa braise.
Brats off.
Chicken shredded and sauced.
Plated. Brats with some onions & peppers. Chicken tacos with some homemade guac and grated jack.
No sides tonight . Tacos were awesome. I love salsa verde!!...and this pepper blend was perfect. The brats were just...meh.
