Beef Barley Stew

First browned some Chuck that was cut into chunks

Roasted a few potatoes, carrots, onion and celery

Sliced the roasted vegetables, added barley, sliced mushrooms, a small package of mixed vegetables, thyme, a few bay leaves, beef base and black pepper. Also threw on a couple of Jumbo butter milk biscuits too. Stew is done, biscuits need about 5 more minutes.

Time to eat!!

That's a LOT of barley... Consider serving some barley bread along with ...;

Adding cooked barley to yeast dough is an awesome addition. Yeast loves barley and the result is almost miraculous, imo.
