Milky Way Cake

My mom wrote the recipe exactly like this:
Melt 8 Milky Way bars with 1 stick of margarine.
Cream 1 stick margarine and 2 cups sugar.Add 4 eggs 1 at a time. Add 2 1/2 cups plain flour,1/2 cup chopped pecans. Add 1 cup buttermilk to which 1/2teaspoon baking soda and 2 teaspoon vanilla has been added. Fold in melted candy bars. Bake at 300* for 1 hour and 15minutes in greased and floured tube pan.
Icing: 3Milky Way Bars,1 stick margarine, 3 tablespoons milk. Heat until melted. Remove from heat and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add powdered sugar untill thick. Spread on a cooled cake.

This has been my birthday cake for as long as I can remember. It is mighty sweet, but good.
