Grandma Witts Butterscotch Cookies

Grandma Witts Butterscotch Cookies

2 cups brown sugar (Dominos in the box)
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp cream of tartar

1. Cream butter, shortening and sugar
2. Beat in eggs and vanilla
3. Sift dry ingredients together
4. Add dry to wet mixture
5. Form into 2 rolls, about 2 inches in diameter
6. Refrigerate overnight
7. Cut into very thin slices
8. Bake 375 for 8 minutes

This is an old family favorite.
