Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies aka Mississippi Mud Pies

Known by many names. This is the East Texas version.

Stir together:

2 C Sugar

3 TBS Cocoa

1 Stick Oleo

1/2 Cup Milk

Bring to a rolling boil for exactly one minute.

Remove from heat and add:

1 Tsp Vanilla

1/2 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter ( One whopping spoonfull )

3 Cups Old Fashion Quaker Oats

Stir together and spoon out onto wax paper to dry.

Warning: One cookie has about 500,000 calories and there is no way to eat just one.

Good Lawdy Miz Claudy. Aint no wonder yall got such crappy bbq and sausage over in your neck of the woods. You trying to pass this off as a Missipppiii mud pie? I am fixing to get the little bride after your coola. She will teach you how to make a real one without no yankee under/over tones. Your in a heap o trouble.

I like good cookie recipes. Look forward to trying the DFW version.

I never ate BBQ from way up there.

Hey Cliff, I'd eat those. I don't care what you want to call them, they look GREAT!

Thank you.

I made them tonight however I did something a little different.

I made them following the recipe then I made a log of them in wax paper then sliced them.

I am going to package them up for my hubby's office they love sweet stuff.
