Bean & Spinach Soup

My wife made this for dinner tonight. She's done it a few times and it's always a hit.
3 14 Ounce Cans Vegetable Broth
1 15 Ounce Can Tomato Puree
1 15 Ounce Can Small White Beans or Great Northern, drained & rinsed
Cup Uncooked Brown Rice
Cup Onion, Finely chopped
1 tsp. Dried Basil
tsp. Salt
tsp. Black Pepper
2 cloves Garlic , chopped
8 Cups Fresh Spinach or Kale, coarsley chopped
Parmeasan Cheese, Finely shredded, to taste

1.Combine all ingredients, except spinach in a 3 1/2 - 4 qt.slow cooker. Cook on low heat 5 - 7 hours or high 2 - 3 hours.:
2.Add spinach and cook an additional 5 minutes or so. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese after ladling into bowls.:
3.This can also be cooked in a large pot on the stove top.:

Well I found a good sounding recipe for similar sounding stuff over on the Soup Forum..but then I posted it on FB and Cappy say this is crappy Eyetalian Wedding soup..dont make that stuff..blah blah blah. I was kinda intimidated to say the least. I may change my mind since yall are braggin on it and the spouter of all knowledge seems to be an imbred peckerwood from the Carolinas who surely aint an exspurt on such matters. I have decided to make some just to test the various hypothesis. Or maybe yall could make it and repoat back? Thanks. If Canellies and canned navy beans is the same thing..believe it would be doable for most of us'uns. Now I am pressed for time.
