We have a electric water heater. Pal I know tells me to put it on a timer to save dough on the electric bill. Like a example would be that no hot water is used after 7:00 am till 7:00 pm. I just can't help but that it would take more energy to reheat the water than saving money. Any thoughts? JB?
Thanks

My friend has one in her house in the LA area. It's mounted outside her house by the water meter thingy. The controls are in her kitchen, so when she wants to take a HOT shower she can set it to 115 or whatever...and hubby can adjust to his liking. I'm getting one when mine craps out...secretly hoping soon!

http://www.takagi.com/ is the brand they have.

I was just chatting with her and she suggested reading this:

Years ago elect water heaters lacked good insulation and it sucked power to maintain temp. Now, not so much. I would think savings would be hard to see.

The Warden knocked our electric bill by a bunch when she started washing clothes in cold water..also dont use the electric dry cycle in the dishwasher if you have one with that feature. Just let em drip dry. Course I try to help too by not taking many showers. Clothes dryer eat you up too. Wear the same clothes a lot.

Also glad to try and be helpful to my pals. I think those tankless water heaters works best with gas as opposed to electricity.
