My wife and I watched it last night. when Booby won, we both said at the same time, "That's the last one of those I'm watching"!!! LOL! It had to be rigged!!!

BTW, This is an unfair and unballanced poll since it has one "Fair" choice and 6 "Rigged" choices ~ Butt, I still voted!!

... That said, Flay cooks his ass off. Better to watch him than to watch people cheering for spices on Emeril Live. OOH, AAH, GARLIC, OOH, YEAH! It's all a bit silly.
Good point, Glenn. Emeril Live is like a cross between a cooking show, the Tonight Show and a Ronco Infomercial!! If I had to watch one or the other, I would watch Bobby Flay. Fortunately, I don't, so I don't watch either! :-D

I think there was another one with Wolfgang Puck as well. My Sunday paper has a weekly feature of his. It is a brief article and a recipe.

I don't think I've actually tried one yet though they usually look very appealing, but I've learned lots and I enjoy the feature.

Anyway, he talked about his win in the Iron Chef show that was done in USA.

Glenn, Flay beat Morimoto (Exec Chef of Nobu) when he did the tabletop dance! Everyone seems to hate this Flay but I find him entertaining...if he wasn't good, he wouldn't own 2 restaurant/bars in NYC and have 28 TV shows and date a hottie like Stephaine March...well, to bad on the last part, but he is successful...you can't argue that! :D

Screw Bobby Fay! I've eaten in Bayless' Chicago Restaraunts many times and own all of his cookbooks. The guy knows more about cuisine, food history, gardening, tabelware, and marketing that Flay will ever know. The enchiladas en mole poblano at Frontera Grill are incredible. (If you ever go there, try the fried plantains with crema!) Bayless is , without a doubt, my favorite American Chef. Rock on Rick. Bobby is not fit to carry your toque! Woody

I agree with most everything that TexLaw said.

I just want to add that everytime Bayless addressed his helpers, he called them by their first names. Every time Flay addressed his helpers, he called all of them the same thing... dude. Alton Brown knew their names, the on the floor technical guy knew their names. But Flay only knew, Dude.

Also when Bobby let his mango chutney scorch, he blamed it on one of is assistances at least three times. Saying, "Dude, you killed it".

I'll end with, "I have learn some things from Bobby Flay, just not how to assemble a WSM".

And yes, I would much rather watch Bobby over Emeril. But if you see Emeril in early shows, with no audience, he is a whole different person. He is now a caricature of himself.

I love Rick Bayless. Never eaten his food, but he certainly does know his craft in a total way. His knowledge floors me, and I love to read his books AND watch him once a week on PBS here.

Rigged - yes. I was VERY surprised to see Rick on that show. He just doesn't seem like that type of guy for some reason to me. His unpretentious and humble persona, his competitveness never seemed to be at issue. I think there are many different reasons why any one chef would do the show, but with Rick, I think it's for totally different reasons than most others.

I do enjoy these shows, not for showmanship, but for sheer creativity of the food. Blows me away the ingredients on hand and the capabilities in such a short period of time. It's entertainment, what can i say?

Hey Jane, good to see Tucson represent here! My dad lives there and I spend alot of time out there. In my opinion it is the best city in America! Love El Charro and El Minuto!! The old man has (had) a cabin up on Mt Lemmon but it burned down last summer along with Summerhaven! They are rebuilding though. Hang around and post more! Woodman

Oh man, the carne seca!!! What about the green corn tamales!!!!I have their cookbook. I wish that they would lose the salsa "dispensers" and put the stuff in bowls though! Ever eat at Caruso's ? That is my dad's favorite restaraunt. Woody
