Venison Anyone?

This 4 point buck was next door eating apples this morning while I was cooking breakfast. Late this afternoon, he was back ~ In my yard. The kids loved it! Matthew want's one as a pet The buck didn’t mind at all that I walked out on my deck to snap a few pics even though we were only about 20-25 yards apart. Anyone got a crossbow? Pigs??

I hate deer...they're just big rats with longer legs. I've got a dent in the side of my truck where Bambi jumped into me at 5 am.....now that's a wakeup call. But I did the right thing. I went back and strangled him.

Yeah, me too. They eat everything! ~ This was the front of our van this past December after a couple ran in front of my wife on an offramp. She was slowing down after seeing the 1st, next thing she knew, the 2nd was rolling in the grass after she nailed it. I went back and found nothing in the area... I dunno...

Yeah, the first couple of mornings after I moved in here... I had a nice buck and 3 doe on the lawn.

One morning just the buck was there ... I didn't even realize he was there until I looked over after going onto the deck.....he was prolly 15 feet on my left. We made eye contact, and he started sniffing and licking...for about 3 minutes....then gave a final SNORT and fled.

It was nice. ... No, I don't hunt. Not that I'm against it....just never felt the need.

I don’t hunt either ~ Never have. I’ve thought about it over the years though. After moving up here and seeing how abundant the deer are, I started thinking, why not? I have 2 Marksman Clusters from my days in the Air Force ~ Why not make good use of it? And, after tasting Pigs’ sausage during Oktoberfest… … I really want to make some of this stuff! (OK, that’s the only part of the secret that’s getting out, not that I know the rest…)

Just a word about deer. I have hunted all my life and it has taken me years to learn that deer only taste as good as it was processed. The last deer that I was lucky enough to harvest was done right. Hung that 11 pointer for around 5 days and had a PRO process the meat. Right in front of me as I waited. Dont use one of these guys who can cut up a deer "like me" but a pro butcher. He knew what to keep and what to throw away yada yada yada.
Nice pics Joker. Makes me anxious.
