Vacation: So Close I Can Smell It

I'm about to die and go back to Heaven. No not up in the sky boy but to North Carolina my home State. My soul recharges there and it's where I call Home no matter where I'm at or for how long. I was born on the banks of Wilson Bay and pulled prk was my first solid meat I ever had.

So....each year my whole family goes on vacation together on the Outer Banks of North Carolina sometimes called Nags Head or Kitty Hawk where the Wright Brothers flew first at. It's old school beaching where there is no boardwalk and stuff like that. The North end we can drive my Jeep on the beach and there are even Wild Horses running around on the Dunes and on the Beachs.

Mom, Dad, Grandma All 4 of us Brothers and are wives are going. Gonna be great but about 1 week is plenty. lol I love them to death but could knock them in their heads after a while. We rent a big house we can all fit in and make sure it has a Pool and Hot Tub as well as close to the beach.

Here is where we are staying this year.
http://resortrealty.com/book/house.html?Num=4724

We actually canceled Vacation this year after my Mom fell breaking her Femor, Wrist and Neck but with the prayers of some of ya'll and others she is recovering nice and we found a place with an Elevator. That helps this 1 legged bbqing Pirate too.

I have no more BBQing to do this week for Hire and just need to get my yard work done as well as clean up the pits. Thought about hauling a pit down but....nah. I need a break even from that and I love BBQ with all my heart. I seen a gas grill in them pictures near the hot tub where the wives will be.....hmmmmm? Looks like a good spot for me and some Pops!

Ya'll been to Nags Head? Like it?

Know of good BBQ down there this year? [Pigman BBQ is not to my liking]

Live close? Want to meet up for a Pop?

On the way down or back I will stop in Williamsburg Virginia and hit PAYNES BBQ. They'll make you wanna slap somebody when you try their BBQ.

peace

Have a good one Mike. Catch a few fish and drop them on the grill.

Thanks folks
JB emailed to remind me to look out to Sea Boy and Pay Attention cus theres a great big old storm off the East Coast that could come and try and stop me from have some pops and fun at the beach.

http://weather.unisys.com/satellite/sat_ir_east.gif

He's right.
Trust me we have rode out Hurricanes there before and you better pack a darn lunch cus they can sure come hard.

I have my Storm Tracker Map printed out and will keep it updated as the storm moves. It could just head East like they normally do or loop back around like Dennis did on us years back.

The storm worries my wife and one brother but it reminds me to pack my Boogie Board and have Terry bring his Long Board so we can surf the storm waves if it stays out to sea but just generates waves. lol Yeah, I bumped my head.

Research, thats it research. I may need to do some research about sand and salt water and its effects on beer drinking some day soon.

I expect a full report on the status of Carolina BBQ and a difinitive answer about the origins of vinegar based VS. tomato based sauces.

Have fun, have to run.

Still storm tracking and packing.
That thing is brewing out there for sure.
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/eaus/loop-rb.html

What the heck if we all die we'll all go together.
lol

We have rode out a Hurricane or two down there and it can be very serious so I'm keeping an eye on this thing.

Woohoo!
I'm packing and Michele is off at Noon! That's my Vacation Girl!

Man I need a break. I've worked so hard this summer I'm wound tighter than a Bajo String.

peace

Beach houses won't make it through a hurricane.. The tidal surge will smash them to pieces....

Dewd quit throwing clouds on my vacation!!!!!

If it did get bad we'll leave and come inland or home. The homes there are built to take a beating and unless it's a 4 or 5 they'll all be fine.

I actually like to wittness the Power of Nature. Puts you in yer place and shows you how small you really are compared to things.

I want Waves!

It will only be good if the center of circulation is north of where you are bodyboarding. You will have epic off shore conditions. If it goes south it will be "Victory at Sea".. There should be waves right now anyway... Make sure you splash alot.. Try to catch a giant redfish and blacken that sucka!!

I see the first Hurrican BBQ video, "Low Heat, Long Times and High Winds" could be the title. Tie yourself to a fence post, just in case.

[smilie=a_rolling.gif]

Hopefully you will have excellent weather! Enjoy!

Oh heck yeah I'll be cooking through the storm.
lol
I got another 2 gig card for my camera so I'll have plenty of footage time. I may stop in a few North Carolina BBQ Places and do Video Reviews.

My I can't wait to cross that State Border!

Yeah the storm is approaching but won't be bad. I'll be watching my Redskins and doing some cooking.
I did shoot some footage and will upload when I get a faster connection.
