I really got into eggrolls this winter....I make em with
collards and ham ( with Rev Marvin for dipping), italian cheese and meat (served with marinara for dipping) and I've made buffalo chicken with
blue cheese crumbles before too.

Fun, delicious and a great way to use leftovers.

We did egg rolls last week. Stuffed with bacon and cheese and sausage and marinara....funkiest lookin egg rolls ive ever seen....then again from what i understand there isnt one lick a oriental in the family.

Well these weren't made out of leftover Q, but they could have.

I seared a 7 bone chuck roast naked, then liberally doused with WRB, put into a pan and cooked in the smoke for another hour, then foiled the pan untl the meat was tender

Then I grilled a head of cabbage, red onion and the serranos. Then julienned those. I blanched and chopped baby spinach and baby carrots. Mixes all the ingredients plus some garlic, salt and pepper. I then mixed the meat and veggies and placed in the fridge to cool.

I then made a dipping sauce which consisted of Reverend Marvins Hot BBQ Sauce, Brown Sugar, Soy Sauce and Sesame Oil. Brought to a boil and reduced by 1/4.

Filled egg roll wrappers with the chuck/veggie mixture and deep fried until golden brown. They turned out much better than expected!!!

I've lived a sheltered life thinking of egg rolls only in terms of oriental stuffings from the chinese restuarant. Sounds like there's a whole new world out there for the wife and I.

Sure do look good. Bet that was purty labor intensive. You young whupper snappers got a lot of energy thankfully. Just got done with my 5 hr nap. Warden cooking beans...fried tates...corn breaqd and biled up cabbage for supper. That is soul food for po white Texas small town oil field trash. I should be able to win the pharting contest tomorrow. Heck maybe all week.
