I bought a single axle trailer and the tires say max load 1820lb at 50 PSI.

Is 50 PSI the normal pressure I should have the tires inflated to?

Yep, tire pressure is on the tire. Are they full size tires or the little ones?

If you have any weight over, say, 500 lbs on that axle, a tire inflated to 50 psi will be one bumpy ride.

Remember that those tires are each rated at that amount.

I run mine at around 30 psi cold and it gives a much better ride than before.

I was always told that you want to run the tires at the psi that allows the entire tread with to make contact with the ground when it's under load.
