The key to getting people involved in a comp is publicity. Most of your backyard cooks won't enter a big contest....try to get those who do
"the circuit"

These are folks who will travel and compete with the best bbq you'll ever eat. This forum is a good place to come for advice and to spread the word. Some of the best minds in the bbq world visit here daily.

Not to far from you is a guy named Jim Minion. I would call it imperative you contact him for more info if you're serious. Go to the memberlist and find him, you can email him.

Hi all! This is Jim Minion, I'm over at Larry's again using his computer mines broke! He's teaching me a thing or two about making good Q!! Competitions in Oregon sound fine to me, bring it!
