So Who Really Wants to be Next FoodTV Star?

ME!
[smilie=dancing_cow.gif]

Well, The Food Network is again auditioning for Season 4 of the Next FoodTV Star. This year they are accepting home shot videos as well as ones made by production companies.

You can mail yer DVD or VHS Tape or upload videos at their myspace page.

I printed all the rules and stuff and am reading through them now and plan on uploading a video later today and throw my hat into the ring.

Trying to decide which one to send The Intro I did for monkeysee's Carolina BBQ is pretty good and is actually still the most viewed video at monkeysee. woohoo. Maybe I should send a video and link to my page that has the 20+ videos.

Some of you boys should give it a shot. Who knows!

You can see some that have been submitted and they ain't all that and a bag of chips. Check them out at the myspace page.

I want to make a show about Competition BBQ and follow some contests and interview teams and such as well and cook and give recipes and such. They need a show like that with BBQ groing as fast as it is.

Good luck folks
peace

Good luck to you, JB, Sapo and the rest! That's how Guy on Diners, Drive In's and Dives made it!

ok, after reading all the fine print found here:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/abou..._63025,00.html

I learned a few things.
#2 says I can't submit the monkeysee ones but something much like them
Quote:
o Length: maximum length is three (3) minutes

o Quality: tapes must not be professionally made or submitted by or through a television producer or other media industry professional; we want to see you how you really are

o Content: Explain why you should have your own Food Network show, talk about who you are, and demonstrate how you cook. All tapes should begin with the applicant stating their full name. Be yourself and show us a taste of your personality. Be creative!

o No music: Please do not include any music in your audition tape.

o Clothing: Please do not wear any clothing or show any items or tattoos that reveal any logos or brandnames or the names or images of any person other than yourself.
#7 may be a kicker too. lol
Quote:
All applicants must be in excellent physical and mental health.
#10 says they want them no later than November 13th, 2007

#13 says what they are looking for
Quote:
We will be looking at personality, style, presence, ability to talk about food, ability to cook, ability to teach about food and cooking techniques, ability to be comfortable on camera, knowledge of food and cooking, and overall performance among other related factors.
#15 says you have to be able to go to NYC in late January and early February and also if you move to be a Finalist you will be asked for 30 original recipes in a short time so start writting them now.

#17 says you sign yer life away to them if you become a Finalist.
Quote:
they will be required to enter into a release and agreement with Food Network prior to traveling to New York that will (i) render applicant exclusive to Food Network for a pre-determined period of time
If'n yer gonna try this by all means read that whole thing. Having read it I will still enter this contest. I clicked on some of the ones submitted so far and they ain't all that.

Have a great day guys!
peace
