Rob (u2canque) did a demonstration of it a couple of months ago on channel 3 news in Cleveland. I think he used a hot plate a dog food bowl and some wood chips to smoke some ribs.

I also saw Alton Brown do it on one of his shows.

I will see if I can get the format to download....that is where I got the idea, Alton Brown, and it actually worked great, but, not so much in the winter....that 20-30 degrees outside made a big difference.....

Things to consider, it has to be an open faced burner, not one that is covered....I think I got mine at either Walmart, or, the Pottery Outlet where I got the pots....

also, the dog bowl cannot be the thick material, the cheaper the better, and then I just used lump and a few chunks of wood....and it keeps temps great.

Let me see what I can do with the video.....
