Smoker idea

I work with a guy who's water heater went out. I was thinking a water heater might now make a bad smoker with the proper modifications. What do ya'll think?

Why not? It's heavy steel, would last for years, you thinking up right, or stick burner.

I've just been trying to get my friends into bbqing and he asked what I thought. I thought it might do ok because it's insulated, but like I said it's my buddies deal. My better half would kill me if I tried to do something like that in our back yard.

Go buy him an elec Brinkmann Gourmet from Academy Sports. If he is a glutton for punishment and want to use charcoal...hang the heating element on the wall and drill a few holes in the fire pan. Put the lava rocks in the Terrarium or Aquarium etc.

Yeah they are glass lined on the inside, When you cut it the glass is gonna chip up, Its like a porcelain liner to keep it from rusting from on the inside...
