I looked for some shrinkable insulation at Lowe's and didn't see any. Is that an automotive wire insulation ?

You may can find some heat shrink at Radio Shack. Put it over the wire and get the blow dryer out and watch it tighten against the wire. I haven't look at Lowe's but if they have it it will be probably by the electircal crimping tools and wire nuts. Heat shrink looks like a straw. You place the "straw" (heat shrink) over the wire you what to protect.

Homo Dumpo has it.. it expensive there though,,, eletrical supply better place to get it...

I have seen it at Harbor Freight Tools, if you're looking for a cheap source.
