My boy made us dinner the other night for a cooking class he’s taking and as an appetizer, he made shrimp cocktail. He made everything from scratch and I thought the presentation was quite nice. Any feedback would be great so I can pass it along to him as I want to encourage him to continue cooking.

Back in the late 50's I played Baseball, Basketball, and Football on my High School teams AND took Home Ec. That's where the girls where!!! Tell that young man to keep up the good work.

First off, it's AWESOME kids are into cooking and your son did a fantastic job!

Now, I would suggest if he does this in class for a 'grade' to fill the glass up with crushed ice and to put a couple dollops of cocktail sauce on top of a lettuce leaf (or in a small ramikin) on top of the ice vs. the cocktail sauce and the shrimp in the bottom of the glass. Dippng the shrimp into the bottom of the deep glass seems awkward.
 
Well that young man done outdid himself. Great looking grub..presentation etc. Will be looking forward to seeing him on Food TV one of these days. Hopefully Rachel Ray still be looking good in them days if he happen to get his start on her show. Tell him to start practicing now to see how much stuff he can carry at one time.

I think the shrimp in the bottom of the glass was a real neat touch! We just did a dinner at the firehouse a couple of weeks back and used cocktail glasses like that for the shrimp cocktail but never thought about the shrimp in the bottom, but I will do that next time!
