I am heading down to Texas for vacation in Dec. I am thinking about taking my wsm along for the ride.

Looking for ideas on how to pack it up. I know I can't put it back in the box it came in since I put it together and put wheels on it but I am sure you folks have come up with some well thought out configurations.

I will be tying it down to a home made version of one of these.

Ideas and/or pics will be most helpful. ;)

Buy another one in Texas and save the box. Then ship it home before you leave. What part of Texas are you going to be in?

When I travel I put the lid , charcol holder thing, the water tray and base in 1 plastic garbage bag. The center section goes in a second bag by itself...If I was going to put it in a rack like you showed, Id put it in whole securing it with a few ratchet straps...

Cliff when I travel with mine I put the sand pan in the bottom and then put it in the back of my truck up against the window and run a ratchet strap through the handle and then crank it down. Works for me and I've driven it as far as Myrtle Beach and back many times without a problem!
