Past & present motorbike thread

Due to the response s on the wanted thread I thunk this would be fun.
in the late 60's:
My 1st was a Bonaza 4hp mini bike
2nd a 1966 honda Cub 50,

In the 70's
a 1971 Honda SL 125
a 1973 Hodaka 125 combat wombat
a 1976 honda XL 175

in the 80s a Yamaha 175 tri moto
a 1981 (I think) Kawi KDX 450 single 2stroke
(Last bike for quite some time as I broke 3 ribs on that bad boy )

in the 90s a Kawi KDX 200

& last a 1996 Husqvarna WRC 610

I only have these 2 digitized at present
the Hodaka pic is JB at 16 years old.

I had the obligatory mini-bike wuth the little tire's and the 3.5hp Briggs in the early '70's. The mid 70's gave me a small motorcycle. Dont remember much about it except that you pulled in the clutch and shifted gears by twisting the right handgrip. Late '70s had me buzzing around town on a Honda CB 125. I miss those days...

Got to love that ding, ding, ding, chime from a old mini bike at idle. My brother in law has a old beater I keep going for him and the three boys. When ever I fix it I say "test run for me" They all scream " NO uncle Chris, your too fat!" Got to love kids!

I only ever had one bike, a 1978 Honda XL75. I almost killed myself on it a few times as a teenager. When I outgrew it I figured my motorcycle career was over.

I've had my share as well, including the no shocks(what were they for?) mini bike, several dirt bikes, then several 'enduro' bikes, then a Yamaha 650 special street bike. Now all I got is a recumbant bike. BUT, it is a fancy one with a computer and all that I can't work.

Numerous Harley's and bloody knuckles since.
I tell the wife the Dyna in the garage is hers...........NOT :twisted:

1976 Yamaha rd125 traded up to
1977 Yamaha rd400 sold for
1975 Norton 850 Interstate kept that til 1992
1979 Honda mt125r my road racer for many years
1992 H-D 883 sporster sold 2003 to get my Austin Healey
now have a 1970 BMW r75/5
Loved them all. Big fun.

Yep, they were 2-stroke singles made from '48 clear into the mid-'60s, using German DKW engineering designs turned over to the Allies after WWII. Siblings using the same designs included the BSA Bantam, the (Soviet) Mockba M1A, and the Yamaha YA-1. After a little more consideration, I think mine was actually a '51 or '52. It was a 125cc bored to 175cc by the previous owner, and in '53 a 165cc replaced the 125cc.
