I have had burns and crashes (plural) over the last month. I'm on my 3rd computer. I'm ready to shoot myself.
Anyway, enough with the venting....
My latest problem that I haven't solved is importing the address backup file into Windows Mail. This ids the back up file with ALL my email address' and contacts.
The file is named "Personal Address Book Database [1].MDB
I think the import program is looking for a WAB file.
How can I work around this?

.mdb is an Access file, not an Outlook one. You would have to have MS Access to open it. This assumes that you used Access in the past to record/store your contacts. I don't know if there is a way to import that into Outlook.

Windows Address Book (.wab) files are used by Outlook and Outlook Express to store addresses and contacts. Unless you can recover all .wab files, you're probably SOL.

Thanks Doug for that tip.
Not having Access, I emailed the file to my wife who opened it. Turned out to be a bogus address file.
Did a search and found the right one and was able to import it.
I'm glad I didn't have to key all that stuff in.
