My Dog Saved & Rescued Timmy from the Well

ok, he didn't rescue Timmy from the well like Lassie did but he did just save my BBQ Sauce I was cooking. Good Boy Skippy!!!!

It's rainy today and so I decided to make a big pot of my favorite BBQ Sauce. I have friends begging for this stuff so was going to make enough to share.

This is a Carolina Mustard Based Sauce and has Brown Sugar, Apple Cider Vinegar, Water, Spices and Seasoning and Butter and Soy Sauce at the end.

So I got most of the stuff going and heated at a Medium High.

After it simmered for about 30 minutes it started to blend together real nice.

after it simmered for 30-40 minutes I added the Butter and Soy Sauce to let simmer another 10 minutes or so.

At this point I knew I had a few minutes and left Skippy laying in the Kitchen doorway and went to start some laundry. Next thing I knew Skippy came to the Laundry Room all excited and got my attention. I joked with him and asked "Is Timmy stuck in the well boy?"

I followed him back to the kitchen and sure as crap my sauce was in a full rolling boil. I turned it down and remembered the butter lowers to boiling point. Skippy noticed things had changed and came and got me. GOOD BOY SKIPPY!!!!!!

The sauce turned out just great and was the best one ever with my latest tweaks.

Someone is getting a couple Pork Butt bones this weekend for sure.

Here is my Dog Skipjack. He's a 5 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

And he talented. Look what he did last winter.

And some of the stuff he comes up with is just damn funny like when he told me I didn't own him and he was a prisoner and should get better treatment according to the Geneva Convention. That was a hoot.

Great penmanship (or would that be penismanship?) for a dog. Is he right-legged or left-legged?

Nice looking dog. Thanks for the pic. Does he jump into freezing water and bring back dead ducks?
