Okay, okay, I don't want to BBQ a goat for Thanksgiving but my kids think it's going to happen.
World Vision, a national organization that helps undernourished children around the world, has a program where you can purchase a live goat with a $75.00 contribution and the goat will go to a needy family in a third world country. I purchased a goat for this program earlier this week and told my kids who are grown and living on their own that I bought a live goat, but I didn't tell them why.
Well, they know how I'm into BBQ and on this blog a lot and they are all freaking out now. I guess the news has hit all their facebook pages and I'm getting all these pro-goat e-mails with pleas not to BBQ it.
I have to admit that I intentionally lead them astray with this in the beginning by mentioning the goat purchase and then following it up with how much I was looking forward to this Thanksgiving dinner. I think the whole thing is funny but maybe I'm causing some angst that I shouldn't. I've found a cool link on the subject of BBQ goat and forwarded it to them and that didn't seem to help much.
Anyway, I've included a few of the links that are going back and forth. The most recent link sent to me this morning has a pretty incredible video of a goat walking a tight rope with a monkey on its back dong a hand stand. Does anybody have a link on how to BBQ a monkey?
Here's the link to the video. I don't know how you could eat a goat that can do this, but the monkey. . . well that's a different matter.

This is a pretty funny commentary that was sent to me from a goat.

This is the goat recipe I sent them a couple of days ago. Yum, yum.
