Wow, only 41. I didn't know his music, but now I want to hear some.

One of his own best known songs was "Angel Eyes"...

Here's one of him doing "My guitar gently weeps"....
.I think it was originally a Beetles song

He was the blind guy in the movie "Roadhouse" playing the
guitar on his lap

It is sad when someone overcomes a great obstacle like blindness and makes a good life only to be brought down by cancer.

Very sad.

Yeah, I had heard that. He's been battling cancer (off and on) since he was 1.
Saw him in concert a lot of years ago. Great guitar player...

His last three albums were more towards jazz than rock...

How many folks other than me sang that song in a bar/nightclub holding a Michelob Light in '88-'89 to some gal? Lots of memories there.

Now I've listened a little, and the sample makes me want more. What a talent, what a shame he died so young.

(Yeah, "... Gently Weeps" was a George Harrison song on the Beatles' White Album. Eric Clapton played lead guitar, 'cause none of the Beatles was that good.)
